Family Preservation Caseworker

Working within a generalized case load model, the Caseworker’s goal at Secwépemc Child and Family Services Agency (SCFSA) is to ensure the safety and well being of children while helping to preserve the family unit, providing preventative support and maintenance programs to preserve families where possible.
Using Signs of Safety as an approach to care, the Caseworker assesses client care and risk to children, creates and implements casework plans, provides services which foster the family unit, makes referrals for other community resources, assesses and monitors temporary and permanent placements for children, participates in dispute resolution opportunities, and maintains case records, in accordance with the Child, Family and Community Service Act, the Adoptions Act, and the Family Relations Act.
The Caseworker develops positive working relationships with community groups, agencies, and societies while providing public education at the community level.
The Family Preservation Caseworker supports Indigenous children and families through culturally grounded trauma informed practice that honours traditions, values and community connections. This role requires active engagement with Indigenous cultures, including participation in cultural practices and community events as appropriate and working in partnership with Elders, Knowledge Keepers and families to support holistic wellbeing.
The worker must demonstrate cultural humility and respect for Indigenous culture and a commitment to ongoing learning and reflection related to the impacts of colonization including intergenerational trauma and  systemic inequities.

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the overall financial management, accountability, and reporting of the Agency. This role ensures the organization’s fiscal integrity, transparency, and long-term sustainability, in alignment with its mission, values, and obligations to Indigenous communities and funding partners.
The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership and oversight of all financial functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and financial planning. The role is accountable for ensuring compliance with all funding agreements, grants, and contractual requirements, while maintaining strong internal controls and risk management practices.
In addition to strategic responsibilities, the Director of Finance is actively engaged in the day-to-day financial operations of the Agency, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of processes such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll oversight, and financial reconciliations. This position provides direct leadership, mentorship, and supervision to the finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment and supporting ongoing staff development and capacity building.
As a trusted advisor, the Director of Finance supports informed decision-making at both the executive and Board levels by delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful financial insights. The position also promotes operational excellence and financial accountability across the organization and requires a practical, detail oriented approach with active involvement in financial processes and systems.

Call for Expressions of Interest: Secwépemc Artists, Storytellers & Language Speakers

Secwépemc Child and Family Services Agency (SCFSA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from Secwépemc artists, storytellers, fluent language speakers, and creatives from the seven Secwépemc communities we serve to work with us on a contract basis.
This call is intended to build a roster of community-based creatives who are interested in supporting SCFSA’s spaces, programs, and projects through art, language, and cultural knowledge.
